Marilyn became blind as a child, but soon demonstrated a gift for music, which took her to the Royal College of Music and on into a teaching profession. She had a longing to communicate her faith and began writing anointed songs. Her deep desire to help others discover the love that has so changed her life led her into Christian Ministry through music. During the past 30 years Marilyn has travelled around the world, becoming one of Britain’s most popular and well-loved singer-songwriters. She also presents regular programmes on RNIB Connect Radio.
While lockdown has been a challenge for most, for one Borderer, it has given him the chance to do something he’s never before found the time for – write a book. For Selkirk-born Loudon Temple, who has run one of the country’s top music agencies for touring artists since setting up the Brookfield-Knights operation 15 years ago, it’s been a welcome visit to the past.
Like many, Loudon’s business ground to a halt when the Covid-19 scare struck in March as live music bit the dust. Tours in the pipeline and all fully scheduled right up into mid-2021 were either cancelled or postponed. http://www.johncavanagh.co.uk/ radio six international https://www.radiosix.com/
One of the many activities the Playback Service has been involved in is recording material for the Radio Clyde Blind Date programme, sometimes we even appeared live on air as John Cavanagh found when looking through our archive. In 1978 Iris and Peter appeared with Tom Ferrie to talk about the first two years of the PLAYBACK service.
