Brian West recently visited the newly refurbished Burrell Collection in Glasgow to find out about the changes. The Burrell Collection is one of the greatest art collections ever amassed by one person and consists of more than 9,000 objects and spans 6,000 years of history. The Burrell Collection will reopen on 29 March 2022 following an extensive refurbishment and redisplay.
The displays range from work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne to important examples of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art, ancient civilizations and more. Regular temporary exhibitions are hosted at the Burrell which also runs an extensive programme of events and activities for children. Brian Hodgson is a British television composer and sound technician. Born in Liverpool in 1938, he joined the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in 1962 where he became the original sound effects creator for the science fiction programme Doctor Who.
